Lynx 2.8.2dev.7 - Amiga port by FrEdY!
--------------------------------------
QUICK NOTES:
- It's better to have the GeekGadgets environment installed for easier
installation. Execute 'Make_Assigns' if u don't have GG.
Althought you don't have GG, it's possible that u have the ixemul and
ixnet libraries in your libs:
If not, I think they're available in Aminet, or directly from the
Ninemoons site (The first one on the BM.html example bookmark)
- Set your terminal to 'amiga' (type 'setenv TERM amiga')
- Use CTRL-L to refresh the screen (in case you have resized the window,
or there are unwanted chars on the screen)
- If you run lynx from a unix shell it works better, so i've included
'ksh'. Run it and then call lynx from there.
- The way that ixemul handles the paths is:
/device(or assign)/path/
If you want read a local HTML file from Lynx, press 'G' and type
file://localhost/dh0/documents/main.html (for example)
Remember this way. It's useful for modify lynx.cfg file, and for
shell use of lynx
- There's a sample lynx.cfg file here. Don't forget to change the paths!
You better also change some other things:
* The Proxy config (remember to remove the '#' at the begging of the line
to make it work)
* Set Make links for all images to FALSE (I like it ON, but most ppl don't)
* Increase the Message time (I use 0 seconds, althought i've set them
to 1 in the example cfg)
* Set the VIEWERS for filetypes
...
- To change the path where lynx searchs lynx.cfg, call it by typing
'lynx -cfg path/lynx.cfg' (u can use any other name for the config)
(I use lynx -cfg /gg/lib/lynx.cfg)
- I've also included a simple bookmark 'BM.html'. I think Lynx uses the
best way to keep bookmarks, 'cause they can be readed from ANY browser
(it's standard HTML). You can download the file 'bm' from Aminet to
add new URLs easily.
- Use the 'ADVANCED' user mode to see the complete URL that the
cursor is pointing at.
